With 260 institutes in nine faculties, RWTH Aachen University is one of Europe's leading institutions for science and research. Over 5,000 of a total of 31,400 are international students hailing from 120 different countries. Prof. Uwe Naumann's group at RWTH Aachen University currently consists of 10 post-graduate research fellows and one secretary. It is involved in seven third-party funded research activities ranging from the development of AD software to the application of discrete adjoints in CS&E.

Prof. Uwe Naumann ( is a member of the Numerical Algorithms Group Ltd. (, of the Juelich Aachen Research Alliance (, and an he is an adjunct member of the SciDAC institute CSCAPES ( He has been a PI in the Aachen Institute for Advanced Studies in Computational Engineering Science ( since 2007.
